Hugh Thom

Biography

He first made his breakthrough in first team football with Banks O' Dee before joining Lewis United. His goalscoring exploits attracted the attention of Cardiff City, Aberdeen and Dundee United, but he eventually opted to sign for Forres Mechanics. Netting 50 goals in his first two seasons at Mosset Park, and collecting a North of Scotland Cup winners medal, he then joined Ross County in 1967. Following an up and down, albeit prolific goalscoring season (24 goals in 24 games), Hugh joined Nairn County for the 1968-69 campaign.

Hugh left Station Park to join Elgin City on October 16, 1969.
